Eid al-Adha Greetings Mark High-Level Talks Between Uzbekistan and Pakistan

Islamabad, June 7, 2025 – The Europe Today: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, held a telephone conversation on Saturday to mark the occasion of Eid al-Adha, extending warm greetings and heartfelt wishes of peace, prosperity, and well-being to the peoples of both nations.

During the discussion, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the ongoing progress in implementing the key agreements reached during Prime Minister Sharif’s landmark visit to Uzbekistan in February 2025. They noted the steady deepening of strategic partnership and growing momentum in political, economic, and cultural engagements at all levels.

The leaders highlighted notable increases in bilateral trade and cargo transportation volumes, alongside a rise in the frequency of direct flights between the two countries. They also reviewed the implementation of joint projects across diverse sectors, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, textiles, and logistics.

President Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Sharif welcomed the successful operation of Uzbek Trade Houses established in Lahore and Karachi, which are playing a vital role in boosting commercial ties.

Both sides emphasized the importance of efficiently organizing the upcoming session of the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission and the bilateral business forum planned for later this year.

Additionally, the leaders exchanged views on regional issues and discussed the schedule of future high-level engagements to sustain and expand the scope of cooperation.

The conversation reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to further strengthen their strategic partnership, built on mutual trust, shared values, and regional collaboration.
