President Prabowo Launches Nationwide Digital Screen Initiative to Transform Education

Jakarta, September 11, 2025 — The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto has unveiled an ambitious plan to distribute smart digital screens to 330,000 schools across Indonesia by the end of this year, in what is set to become one of the country’s largest education technology programs.

The announcement was made during the President’s visit to Margaguna 10th Sekolah Rakyat High School in South Jakarta on Thursday, where he noted that the rollout had already begun, with the first school receiving the new equipment.

“This technology will improve the delivery of learning materials, including animation, and help address teacher shortages in remote regions such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi,” President Prabowo stated.

Under the program, 20 to 30 of the nation’s top teachers in each subject will be selected to conduct lessons live from a central studio, with classes broadcast to schools nationwide. “Theoretically, one teacher can reach every class across Indonesia with this technology,” he emphasized.

The interactive smart screens are equipped with cameras, enabling real-time monitoring of classrooms. “This Smart TV is built with a camera to monitor classrooms. I can see schools without teachers or where classes are overcrowded,” the President explained.

Initially, each school will receive one digital screen, with plans to expand to three per school in 2026 and ultimately one per classroom in the longer term. President Prabowo underlined that this initiative is not merely a technological innovation, but a national strategy to ensure Indonesian students remain competitive globally.

“We will do everything possible to prepare our children for the best education. We cannot afford to lose, because the world is full of fierce competition,” he affirmed.

In addition to digitalizing classrooms, the government will establish 500 Sekolah Rakyat in the country’s poorest communities, prioritizing children from households in the lowest two income deciles. The program will gradually expand to cover families in the third to fifth income deciles.
