Trump Says Hostage Negotiations with Hamas “Progressing Very Well”

Trump

Washington, October 6, 2025 – The Europe Today:  Negotiations for the release of hostages held by the radical Palestinian movement Hamas are making significant progress, according to US President Donald Trump.

Speaking to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House, President Trump said that talks had recently begun and were advancing positively.

“Negotiations are underway right now. They started in the last couple of days. We’ll see how they play out, but I’m hearing that they’re going very well,” Trump stated.

The comment comes amid renewed diplomatic efforts to address the ongoing crisis in Gaza. On September 29, the White House unveiled a “comprehensive plan” proposed by President Trump to resolve the conflict.

The 20-point document outlines several measures, including the establishment of temporary external governance in the Palestinian enclave and the deployment of international peacekeeping forces to oversee the transition.

Israel has reportedly expressed its agreement with the plan, signaling cautious optimism for potential progress in the region.
