“The bonds between Pakistan and Azerbaijan are not transactional, but historical and enduring — rooted in shared principles of respect, justice, and equality,” Gilani remarked. Recalling his recent visit to Baku, he described Azerbaijan as a “home away from home” and expressed appreciation for the warmth and hospitality extended by the Azerbaijani leadership and people. In his address, Ambassador Khazar Farhadov highlighted the courage and determination of the Azerbaijani people during their struggle to liberate the city of Shusha and other occupied territories from Armenian control. He described Shusha as a symbol of Azerbaijan’s unity, strength, and unwavering resolve for freedom.

The Ambassador expressed profound gratitude to the Government and people of Pakistan for their consistent support and solidarity during Azerbaijan’s struggle for liberation. “Every year, November 8 is celebrated as Victory Day of Azerbaijan,” he noted, paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
