Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia Discuss Strengthening Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation

Riyadh, January 7, 2026 – The Europe Today: Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, has met with the Speaker of Saudi Arabia’s Majlis ash-Shura (Consultative Assembly), Dr. Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, according to the press office of the upper house of parliament.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed topical issues related to strengthening and expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia. It was emphasized that the friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries are developing on the basis of mutual respect and constructive cooperation.

Idizoda highlighted the high level of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia, noting that the role of parliaments is important in further reinforcing and supporting this positive momentum.

The meeting also covered cooperation in the field of legislation, the exchange of parliamentary experience, coordination of positions within international organizations, and the development of ties between inter-parliamentary friendship groups.

Both sides expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary cooperation in the period ahead.
