Baku, February 12, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, held a meeting with a delegation led by Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport, to discuss prospects for enhanced cooperation in the field of urban transport development.
During the discussions, both sides explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration between Abu Dhabi and Azerbaijan, particularly in advancing sustainable and modern urban mobility systems.
The meeting focused on measures to optimize transport management in Baku, including the procurement of new electric buses aimed at reducing emissions and improving public transport efficiency. The parties also exchanged views on the development of micromobility solutions and the expansion of parking infrastructure to address growing urban mobility demands.
The dialogue reflects the shared commitment of both sides to promoting smart, sustainable, and environmentally friendly transport systems through closer bilateral cooperation.
