Turkmenistan, OSCE Discuss Enhancing Cooperation on Migration Issues

Ashgabat, February 21, 2026 – The Europe Today: A working meeting was held on February 19, 2026, at the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan with Andrei Iovu, an expert from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), to discuss prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of migration.

According to the press office of the State Migration Service, the sides exchanged views on the future direction of collaboration between Turkmenistan and the OSCE, particularly in advancing migration governance and policy implementation.

The meeting reviewed joint initiatives carried out with OSCE support and explored opportunities to further expand cooperation in priority areas related to migration management. Discussions focused on enhancing institutional capacity, aligning with international standards, and identifying key areas for future engagement.

Both parties expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to develop successfully and reaffirmed their commitment to implementing ongoing and upcoming projects effectively.

The State Migration Service of Turkmenistan serves as the executive authority responsible for regulating migration processes, implementing state migration policy, and ensuring compliance with the country’s international obligations in the migration sphere.
