Largest-Ever Global Traveler Delegation Visits Zangilan to Witness Reconstruction in Karabakh

Zangilan, March 28, 2026 – The Europe Today:  Zangilan has emerged as a key destination for an international delegation of world travelers visiting Garabagh and East Zangezur, led by Harry Mitsidis, a British citizen of Greek origin and founder of the NomadMania club.

During their visit, the travelers are observing major infrastructure developments, including the ongoing construction of the Horadiz–Agband highway and railway, which are central to enhancing regional connectivity and supporting post-conflict recovery efforts.

The two-day tour brings together 79 participants from 37 countries, marking the largest group of international travelers to visit Garabagh and East Zangezur to date. The visit underscores growing global interest in the region following its liberation and ongoing reconstruction.

NomadMania, known for its unique travel ranking system that divides the world into 1,301 regions, has played a prominent role in promoting exploratory travel. Harry Mitsidis currently holds the top global rank, having visited all 1,301 regions extensively. Notably, the organization also held its annual meeting in Azerbaijan for the first time.

The visit carries particular significance in the context of “dark tourism,” offering participants firsthand insight into areas previously affected by conflict while showcasing extensive rebuilding and development initiatives underway.

Between 2020 and 2025, a total of 15 visits to Karabakh and East Zangezur were organized through major international traveler clubs. The current trip represents the 16th such visit, reflecting sustained international engagement and growing awareness of the region’s transformation.
