Turkmenistan Embassy, HabibMetro Bank Discuss Expanding Bilateral Financial Cooperation in Islamabad

Islamabad On April 29, 2026, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted a meeting with a delegation led by Ms. Fatima Zehra, Head of the Foreign Missions Unit at HabibMetro Bank, one of Pakistan’s oldest commercial banks and a leading financial institution since 1947.

During the meeting, both sides discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the financial and banking sectors. Particular focus was placed on establishing direct correspondent banking relationships, strengthening financial mechanisms, and facilitating joint projects aimed at enhancing economic collaboration.

The participants emphasized the importance of closer engagement between the financial institutions of Turkmenistan and Pakistan, noting that such cooperation would contribute to creating a more conducive business environment and attracting greater investment flows.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing constructive dialogue and agreed to maintain regular contact to further develop specific areas of cooperation.
