Ashgabat, May 14, 2026 – The Europe Today: Mahri Byshimova held talks with Yasmine Gouedard on May 13, 2026, to discuss strengthening dialogue and humanitarian cooperation between European and Central Asian countries.
The meeting took place in Ashgabat, where both sides reviewed the current state of relations between European and Central Asian nations, with particular attention to cooperation involving Turkmenistan.
During the discussions, Gouedard outlined a number of initiatives aimed at enhancing humanitarian ties between Europe and Central Asia. She expressed readiness to organize lectures and seminars for representatives of universities and institutions in Turkmenistan focusing on preventive diplomacy, conflict studies, and political analysis.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments. The meeting highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan’s peace-oriented foreign policy and the commitment of the Turkmen people to values such as good-neighborliness, friendship, and mutual respect.
As part of her visit to Ashgabat, Gouedard participated in a scientific-practical conference titled “Turkmenistan and International Law: Experience of Neutrality and Cooperation,” hosted at the International University for the Humanities and Development.
She also delivered a lecture to students specializing in international relations, underscoring the importance of academic and intellectual exchange in strengthening regional cooperation.
