Tajikistan Showcases Energy Sector Achievements at Global Energy Forum in Washington

Washington, June 12, 2026 – The Europe Today:  Tajikistan highlighted its energy sector achievements and ongoing infrastructure projects at the Global Energy Forum in Washington, according to the Embassy of Tajikistan in the United States.

Speaking at the forum, Tajikistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Zavqi Zavqizoda, outlined the country’s progress in energy development since gaining independence and emphasized energy independence as a strategic national objective identified by President Emomali Rahmon.

The ambassador highlighted major energy infrastructure initiatives, including the Rogun Hydropower Plant and the CASA-1000 high-voltage electricity transmission line. He noted that construction and development activities on these key projects are continuing as part of the country’s efforts to strengthen its energy capacity and regional connectivity.

According to the embassy, the forum provided an opportunity for Tajikistan to present its energy strategy and investment potential to an international audience. The event brought together representatives of energy organizations and companies, as well as experts from leading U.S. research institutions and policy centers.

The participation underscored Tajikistan’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy development and enhancing international cooperation in the energy sector while pursuing long-term energy security and economic growth.
