Baku, October 1, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam on September 30 to discuss cooperation in swimming and preparations for the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Baku.
During the meeting, the sides highlighted the significance of hosting the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Baku for the first time, noting that the event would contribute to enhancing Azerbaijan’s international sporting profile and promoting the development of swimming across the country.
The meeting also addressed Azerbaijan’s efforts to develop swimming, its modern sports infrastructure and its experience in organizing major international sporting competitions.
The sides noted the successful development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and World Aquatics and exchanged views on prospects for further strengthening the partnership.
The upcoming competition is expected to provide an additional platform for international sporting exchanges while supporting the continued development of swimming in Azerbaijan.
