Ramzan Kadyrov Expresses Condolences to Azerbaijan over Baku–Grozny Plane Crash

Baku, October 11, 2026 – The Europe Today: On October 10, 2026, Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation, has once again expressed condolences to Azerbaijan over the crash of the Baku–Grozny passenger aircraft in December 2024. He made the remarks during his meeting with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

“On my own behalf and on behalf of the entire Chechen people, I would like to once again express my deepest condolences over the crash of the Baku–Grozny aircraft in December 2024. This is a shared sorrow,” Ramzan Kadyrov said.

“We sincerely share the grief of the brotherly Azerbaijani people and pray for the souls of all those who lost their lives,” he added.

The Azerbaijan Airlines flight from Baku to Grozny crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25, 2024. Thirty-eight of the 67 people on board were killed.
