President Mirziyoyev Reviews Progress of Zaamin Technopark Industrial Zone

Mirziyoyev

Jizzakh, July 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: On July 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Jizzakh region to assess the ongoing development of the Zaamin Technopark, a special industrial zone launched under his initiative. The large-scale project, inaugurated on June 27 last year, spans 400 hectares and is designed to house 31 investment projects totaling $1.2 billion, primarily in collaboration with Chinese investors.

Since its launch, essential infrastructure has been developed and production facilities have been constructed within the zone. The first enterprise has already begun operations — a $10 million concrete products plant established by China’s Xinjiang Honglin Tiandi. The facility has created 60 new jobs.

The second project, currently nearing completion, involves a $42 million investment to produce 300,000 units of household electrical appliances annually under the Midea brand. This initiative is expected to generate 150 jobs. President Mirziyoyev was briefed on these projects and future initiatives during his tour.

As part of the first phase, nine projects have been allocated within the technopark. Construction is actively underway on seven more projects, valued at around $300 million. These developments will focus on producing construction materials, metal structures, electrical and chemical products, and establishing logistics and training centers.

Once all projects are operational, the technopark is projected to produce industrial goods worth nearly 5 trillion Uzbek soums, introduce 15 new product types, and achieve an export potential of $70 million. Significantly, the implementation of the full program is expected to create over 5,000 new jobs.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of expediting project implementation and providing full support to investors. He also highlighted the need to train qualified specialists for the new enterprises and ensure employment opportunities, particularly for young people in the region.
