Ashgabat, September 15, 2025 — The Europe Today: On the eve of the 34th anniversary of the sacred independence of Turkmenistan, celebrated in the International Year of Peace and Trust, the people of the country are preparing with great inspiration for one of the key national events — the upcoming session of the Halk Maslahaty.
This important gathering, considered a true celebration of national democracy, reaffirms Turkmenistan’s steadfast commitment to peace, trust, and the well-being of its citizens.
The session’s agenda includes a comprehensive analysis of the results of the country’s recent work. By the order of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, participants will review specific proposals for advancing all key sectors, including industry, agriculture, healthcare, sports, and education. The action plan for the coming year will be fully aligned with the goals outlined in the major state programs, “Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State” and the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country.”
A significant item on the agenda will be the consideration of a draft constitutionally significant law, “On the Legal Foundations of the Policy of Peace and Trust of Neutral Turkmenistan.” Initiated by the National Leader, the document aims to enshrine the principles of permanent neutrality in national legislation, particularly meaningful in light of the upcoming 30th anniversary of this status. The adoption of the law is expected to further strengthen Turkmenistan’s role as a peacekeeping state and a reliable guarantor of regional stability. Preparations for this anniversary have already included the adoption of the law “On the Establishment of the Jubilee Medal ‘Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 ýyllygyna.’”
In addition to addressing strategic tasks of the new era, the Halk Maslahaty will also honor the contributions of workers whose dedicated efforts continue to support the prosperity of the nation.
