Kuala Lumpur, September 20, 2025 — The Europe Today: Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà underscored the pivotal role of the Halal industry in the 21st century at the opening of the Global Halal Summit 2025, a flagship event of the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2025).
The Deputy PM praised the summit as a vital platform for countries, businesses, and international partners to strengthen trade, investment, and collaboration in the Halal sector, while advancing sustainable development and promoting global standards. He affirmed Việt Nam’s recognition of Halal development as an important pathway for new growth momentum.
On the sidelines, Hà held talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Utama Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Religious Affairs Haji Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar. He emphasized Việt Nam’s intention to expand Halal cooperation with Malaysia through joint policy development, certification systems, and investments in production, supply chains, and Halal industrial zones.
Recognizing strong potential for cooperation, Prime Minister Anwar tasked Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who oversees Halal affairs, to work directly with Hà on concrete measures. Minister Na’im announced plans to visit Việt Nam next week to further boost Halal collaboration.
During his visit, Hà also toured nearly 30 Vietnamese booths at MIHAS 2025, showcasing a range of products from consumer goods and processed food to handicrafts, cosmetics, and fashion.
MIHAS, the world’s largest Halal exhibition since 2004, serves as a premier trade platform driving innovation and growth in the Halal economy. The 2025 edition, themed “Pinnacle of Halal Excellence,” features more than 2,300 booths from 45 countries across 14 sectors, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.
