President Tokayev Tasks New Deputy Prime Minister with Advancing AI and Digital Development

Astana, September 30, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, Zhaslan Madiyev, instructing him to accelerate the country’s digital transformation agenda.

At the meeting, the Head of State outlined key priorities, including the further development of national digital infrastructure, the adoption of artificial intelligence in major economic and social sectors, and the improvement of digital government services for both citizens and businesses.

Tokayev placed particular emphasis on the training of highly skilled specialists in artificial intelligence and digital technologies, stressing the importance of building human capital to sustain long-term growth in this field.

The President also underlined the need to expand international cooperation in high technologies and to strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a leading regional digital hub.

The Deputy Prime Minister has been tasked with implementing the strategic goal, set out in the President’s Address, of transforming Kazakhstan into a digital state.
