Kazakhstan, Austria Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

AstanaNovember 14, 2025 – The Europe Today:  Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev on Friday received Ambassador of Austria Andrea Bacher for talks focused on strengthening the bilateral partnership, the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on key areas of cooperation and emphasized the importance of further developing Kazakh-Austrian relations across political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. They highlighted the significant role played by the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Agricultural, Environmental, Industrial, Technical and Technological Cooperation, as well as the Kazakh-Austrian Business Council, in advancing trade and investment ties.

Foreign Minister Kosherbayev underlined the potential for expanding collaboration in energy, mechanical engineering, the agro-industrial sector, and infrastructure development. He noted that Kazakhstan remains open to initiatives that can enhance economic diversification and deepen long-term partnerships.

Ambassador Bacher reaffirmed Austria’s interest in maintaining dynamic engagement with Kazakhstan, both bilaterally and within multilateral frameworks. She stressed the value of continued dialogue and cooperation to address shared priorities.

Concluding the meeting, the two sides reiterated their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation and sustaining active diplomatic exchanges, including through upcoming visits and joint events.

Separately, the Foreign Ministry reported that Yerkin Tukumov, Special Representative of the President of Kazakhstan for Afghanistan and Ambassador-at-Large, recently paid a working visit to Brussels to participate in the seventh meeting of the European Union and Central Asian Special Representatives and Envoys for Afghanistan.
