Baku, November 19, 2025 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting on Tuesday with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker to review the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process, and broader regional and global security matters.
The two sides recalled the agreements reached during the landmark August 8 Washington meeting, stressing the importance of coordinated efforts to advance the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States. Discussions highlighted enhanced cooperation in regional stability, energy security, and the expansion of transport and connectivity routes.
In this context, the Azerbaijani side expressed interest in the expedited implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), aimed at ensuring seamless connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The officials also reviewed the work of the Strategic Working Group, which is preparing a Strategic Partnership Charter to deepen collaboration across priority areas. Both sides underscored the need to establish a robust institutional framework to support practical and long-term bilateral cooperation.
The meeting further addressed the peace and stability agenda in the South Caucasus, with both parties discussing future activities within bilateral and multilateral formats. Minister Bayramov briefed Under Secretary Hooker on Azerbaijan’s initiatives in the normalization process, as well as ongoing restoration and reconstruction efforts in the post-conflict period.
Developments in the Middle East and other regional issues of shared concern were also covered during the discussions.
