Turkmen and Australian Ambassadors Discuss Regional Cooperation and Connectivity in Islamabad

IslamabadNovember 25, 2025 – The Europe Today: The newly appointed Ambassador of Australia to Pakistan, Tim Kane, paid a courtesy call on Turkmenistan’s Ambassador A. Movlamov on Monday, marking an early step toward strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation.

Ambassador Movlamov congratulated his Australian counterpart on the recent presentation of his Credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari and conveyed best wishes for a productive and successful tenure in Pakistan.

During the meeting, both diplomats exchanged views on the evolving regional landscape and underscored the importance of enhancing peace, trust, and cooperation at both regional and global levels.

Ambassador Movlamov elaborated on Turkmenistan’s policy of Permanent Neutrality, describing it as a cornerstone of the country’s international engagements. He also outlined major energy initiatives being advanced under Turkmenistan’s leadership, emphasizing their significance for regional connectivity and economic stability.

Ambassador Tim Kane expressed appreciation for Turkmenistan’s continued efforts to expand sustainable transit, trade, and economic corridors, noting Australia’s interest in advancing practical cooperation that supports broader regional development.

Both sides explored potential avenues for enhanced Turkmenistan–Australia collaboration, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening ties across sectors of mutual interest.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain regular communication, improve coordination, and foster deeper engagement within Pakistan’s diplomatic community.
