Zardari

IslamabadNovember 26, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Iran in the face of Israeli aggression, pledging Islamabad’s continued diplomatic and political backing for Tehran.

The commitment came during a meeting on Tuesday between President Zardari and Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, according to a statement issued by the Presidency.

Zardari lauded the resilience of the Iranian people under the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei during the 12-day Israeli aggression in June, praising what he described as Iran’s steadfast response to regional challenges.

He also expressed gratitude to Tehran for its consistent diplomatic support during a recent conflict between Pakistan and India, noting that Iran’s position had reinforced regional stability and strengthened bilateral trust.

The two sides discussed a range of regional issues, including the situation in Palestine. President Zardari thanked Iran for its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, describing it as a shared priority for both nations.

Highlighting the importance of close cooperation between the neighbouring countries, Zardari stressed that Pakistan and Iran must work together to advance mutual interests and foster regional peace.

He further underscored Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral trade, noting that enhanced rail connectivity between the two countries should be pursued as a priority to strengthen commercial exchanges and boost tourism.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their desire to deepen strategic cooperation and maintain regular engagement on regional and international issues.
