Astana, December 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the Akorda press service reported.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current state of the EEC’s activities and discussed prospects for its further development. Particular focus was placed on the priorities of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) structures in 2026.
President Tokayev was also briefed on preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, scheduled to take place on December 21 in Saint Petersburg.
The Kazakh leader underscored the importance of continued effective cooperation within the EAEU to ensure mutually beneficial economic integration among member states.
