Beijing, January 03, 2024, The Europe Today: China’s state-owned assets regulator unveiled a comprehensive list on Wednesday, showcasing mega-projects completed or initiated in 2023 by central state-owned enterprises. The compilation highlights remarkable feats in super engineering, including the launch of the Shenzhou-17 manned spaceship, the operational debut of China’s new-generation “artificial sun” HL-3 with a plasma current of 1 million amperes, and the commencement of a new nuclear power unit utilizing the Hualong One, a domestically designed third-generation nuclear reactor.

Notable infrastructure projects featured in the list encompass the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, a cross-sea underwater tunnel connecting Shenzhen and Zhongshan, and a grid project significantly enhancing power supply in the Greater Bay Area.

The top 10 also includes the construction of an intelligent computing center, a large ethylene project, the operation of an eco-friendly offshore oil field, and a commercial service facilitating two-way connectivity between consumer-grade 5G terminals and satellites. The selection process, organized by news outlets under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, relied on a combination of public opinion polls and expertise.
