Investing in Progress: China’s Substantial Commitment to Xizang’s Development in 2024

Beijing, January 07, 2024, The Europe Today: Southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region anticipates an allocation of 80 billion yuan (approximately 11.26 billion U.S. dollars) from the central government in 2024 for regional development, as conveyed by Yan Jinhai, Chairman of the regional government.

The allocated funds are earmarked for essential infrastructure projects, encompassing the expansion of railways, highways, and airports, as outlined in Yan’s government work report during the second plenary session of the 12th People’s Congress of the Xizang Autonomous Region.

Notably, the report emphasizes the commencement or continuation of construction for ten general aviation airports within the region this year. Additionally, a strategic focus will be placed on advancing clean energy bases, reflecting a comprehensive approach to propel Xizang’s overall development and modernization.
