Samarkand, January 11, 2024, The Europe Today: Samarkand International University of Technology (SIUT), distinguished as one of the newest institutions in the nation, has achieved remarkable recognition in the realm of scientific research. As of 2023, SIUT secured the second position in the national database of university research in Uzbekistan, a testament to its commitment to academic excellence.
In its inaugural year, SIUT admitted 200 students into premier engineering disciplines, including mining, geology, petroleum, chemical engineering, and information technology. Noteworthy is the institution’s dedication to supporting talent and fostering inclusivity, as 67 exceptionally gifted students, along with those requiring social protection, were awarded personal grants by Bakhtiyor Fazylov, the Chairman of the SIUT Board of Trustees.
SIUT sets itself apart through the incorporation of cutting-edge international engineering education standards into its curriculum. The university’s commitment to global perspectives is evident in its collaboration with over 30 experienced professors hailing from 16 different countries, enriching the educational experience. Emphasizing adaptability and relevance to real-world demands, SIUT ensures the mobility, flexibility, and prompt adjustment of its courses to align with the evolving needs of the economy.
The university’s stellar performance in the national research landscape is underscored by the meticulous criteria used for assessment. Factors such as the overall average H-INDEX of the faculty and the citation count of their research, as documented in prestigious databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, played a pivotal role in SIUT’s recognition.
Notably, SIUT Professor of Mathematics, Mohammed Kaabar, emerged among the most cited scientists globally in 2023, a distinction acknowledged by Stanford University (USA) in October of the preceding year. SIUT’s ascent in the academic sphere showcases a commitment to innovation, international collaboration, and the pursuit of scholarly excellence.
