Samarkand, January 11, 2024, The Europe Today: Samarkand International University of Technology (SIUT), distinguished as one of the newest institutions in the nation, has achieved remarkable recognition in the realm of scientific research. As of 2023, SIUT secured the second position in the national database of university research in Uzbekistan, a testament to its commitment to academic excellence.
In its inaugural year, SIUT admitted 200 students into premier engineering disciplines, including mining, geology, petroleum, chemical engineering, and information technology. Noteworthy is the institution’s dedication to supporting talent and fostering inclusivity, as 67 exceptionally gifted students, along with those requiring social protection, were awarded personal grants by Bakhtiyor Fazylov, the Chairman of the SIUT Board of Trustees.

Factors such as the overall average H-INDEX of the faculty and the citation count of their research, as documented in prestigious databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, played a pivotal role in SIUT’s recognition.
Notably, SIUT Professor of Mathematics, Mohammed Kaabar, emerged among the most cited scientists globally in 2023, a distinction acknowledged by Stanford University (USA) in October of the preceding year. SIUT’s ascent in the academic sphere showcases a commitment to innovation, international collaboration, and the pursuit of scholarly excellence.
