Changsha, March 21, 2024, The Europe Today: President Xi Jinping has emphasized the significance of reform and innovation during his inspection tour to central China’s Hunan Province from Monday to Thursday.
During his visit, President Xi called upon Hunan to uphold a realistic and pragmatic approach to carve out its own path in advancing Chinese modernization.
President Xi urged Hunan to position itself as a national hub for crucial and advanced manufacturing industries, as well as a center for scientific and technological innovation with core competitiveness. The inspection tour commenced with President Xi’s visit to Hunan First Normal University in Changsha City on Monday. At the university, he explored an exhibition showcasing Mao Zedong in his youth and engaged in discussions with students and faculty members. President Xi underscored the importance of educational institutions in nurturing students’ moral character and guiding them towards serving the nation.
Later, President Xi inspected a Chinese-German battery materials joint venture, where he highlighted the critical role of scientific and technological innovation and high-quality development in the success of enterprises. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to further opening its doors to the world and encouraged increased foreign investment and development within the country.
