International Conference Celebrates Magtymguly Fragi’s Literary Legacy at All-Russian State Library

Moscow, April 11, 2024, The Europe Today: An international scientific conference titled “The contribution of the Turkmen poet, philosopher, and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi to world literature” was recently convened at the M.I. Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature in Moscow. The prestigious event, reported by “Turkmenistan: Golden Age,” marked a significant milestone amidst various activities in Russia commemorating the 300th anniversary of the renowned Turkmen literary figure, supported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan.

The conference attracted distinguished participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, foreign diplomats based in Moscow, as well as eminent Russian and Turkmen writers, poets, and literary scholars.

Throughout the proceedings, attendees delved into the works of Magtymguly Fragi, with recitations of his poetry and musical renditions of songs and romances composed by Turkmen artists inspired by his verses. The event also showcased a captivating exhibition of contemporary Turkmen fine art in the Oval Hall of the library.

A notable highlight of the conference was the ceremonial presentation by Esen Aydogdyev, the head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission, who presented a collection of Magtymguly Fragi’s works published in numerous languages to Pavel Kuzmin, the General Director of the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I. Rudomino.

The conference concluded with a delightful experience of Turkmen culture, featuring a tasting session of authentic national cuisine and captivating performances of folk songs and dances, adding a festive touch to the celebration of Magtymguly Fragi’s enduring literary legacy.
