Islamabad, May 08, 2024, The Europe Today: Engr Qaiser Nawab, a distinguished advocate for youth empowerment and President of the Belt and Road Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRISD), held a fruitful meeting with Mr. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). The meeting, which convened at the ICCI premises, centered on the pivotal role of youth in shaping the economy, particularly through entrepreneurship.
The discussion highlighted the imperative of nurturing young entrepreneurs and fostering linkages and mentorship with established business leaders. Mr. Nawab emphasized the significance of ICCI’s mentorship programs in guiding aspiring entrepreneurs towards success. Furthermore, he shared insights into upcoming youth-focused activities, particularly those concerning climate change, stressing the vital role of youth involvement in addressing global challenges.
Pakistan boasts a youth bulge population, comprising approximately 70 percent of its demographic landscape, making youth engagement a cornerstone of national progress. Mr. Nawab articulated the potential of Pakistan’s youth when provided with the right guidance and opportunities, mentioning modern business trends like the Carbon Market and proposing joint events and training sessions to enhance the business community’s capacity.
Mr. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari commended Mr. Nawab’s initiatives and expressed full support for engaging with the youth. He highlighted ICCI’s commitment to youth engagement, citing various initiatives and sessions organized to empower young entrepreneurs. As a token of appreciation, Mr. Bakhtawari presented a souvenir to Mr. Nawab at the conclusion of the meeting.
The meeting also witnessed the participation of Malik Nadeem Akhtar, CEO of “THE” Society International (Together for Health and Education), who elaborated on ICCI’s role in promoting health and education among young people, further enriching the dialogue on youth empowerment and economic growth.
