Islamabad, May 28, 2024, The Europe Today: Mr. Qaiser Nawab, the esteemed Founder President of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Alumni Association (PAAA) and a prominent Global Climate Youth Activist, extends his heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of their Independence Day.
“Today’s modern Azerbaijan is a glorious nation, standing prominently on the global stage,” Mr. Nawab stated. “Azerbaijan’s commitment to hosting international events that promote a culture of multilateralism underscores its role in addressing and solving global issues. Notably, Azerbaijan has been exceptionally active as the chair of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), even navigating the most challenging times during the global pandemic.”
Mr. Nawab also highlighted Azerbaijan’s significant achievement in hosting the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP-29), which addresses the urgent global challenge of climate change. “The necessity for a united approach by all nations to tackle climate change is paramount, and Azerbaijan’s leadership in hosting COP-29 demonstrates its dedication to fostering global cooperation.”
During his recent visit to the liberated areas such as Shusha, Mr. Nawab was deeply impressed by the rapid development and reconstruction efforts following liberation. He noted the remarkable advancements, particularly the Fuzuli International Airport, which boasts world-class modern facilities, and the construction of new roads, the Shusha 5-star hotel, and the comprehensive plans for sustainable green cities and urban development. “The return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to these areas is a great testament to the visionary leadership of President Ilham Aliyev,” Mr. Nawab remarked.
Furthermore, Mr. Nawab praised the dynamic leadership of Azerbaijan, particularly in liberating its land from the illegal occupation of Armenia, ensuring compliance with international laws and treaties. “This leadership has not only strengthened Azerbaijan’s sovereignty but has also solidified its position as a great leader in the modern world.”
The brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Pakistan has also flourished, marked by increased cooperation, direct flights, and numerous collaborative efforts, all attributable to the dynamic leadership in both nations. “This strengthened bond is a testament to our shared values and aspirations,” Mr. Nawab remarked.
He also acknowledged the patriotism and national pride of the young people of Azerbaijan, who have consistently represented their country with distinction on various platforms. “The youth of Azerbaijan are a beacon of hope and pride, embodying the nation’s values and aspirations on the global stage.”
