Ashgabat, July 09, 2024, The Europe Today: Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched new initiatives aimed at enhancing the country’s electoral system and providing quality legal assistance. A series of strategic agreements were signed to reinforce and develop a long-term partnership to achieve national development priorities.

Electoral System Capacity Building
The project “Assistance in Building the Capacity of the Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan” aims to support and improve the qualifications of election commissions in Turkmenistan. This project will facilitate the exchange of advanced international experience and organize relevant training events. Funded by the Government of Turkmenistan, the project will be implemented jointly with the Central Commission for Holding Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan.
Strengthening Legal Aid Provision
The project “Strengthening the Potential of the Bar Associations of Turkmenistan in Ensuring Human Rights” focuses on enhancing the quality of legal aid in accordance with international standards. Funded by the UK Government, this project will be implemented in collaboration with the Presidium of the Bar Associations of Ashgabat.
