Baku, August 14, 2024, The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has issued a presidential order to honor members of the country’s national Olympic team for their outstanding performances at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games, according to NHC.
In recognition of their achievements and contributions to the development of sports in Azerbaijan, the athletes and their coaches have been awarded several prestigious honors. These include “the Shohrat” Order, the “For Service to the Fatherland” Orders 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Class, the “Labor” Order 3rd Class, and the “Taraggi” medal.
Additionally, President Aliyev has authorized monetary rewards for those who excelled at the Olympic Games in Paris. The rewards are as follows:
- Gold Medalists: Each athlete who secured first place will receive 400,000 AZN, while their coach will be awarded 200,000 AZN.
- Silver Medalists: Athletes who achieved second place will be granted 200,000 AZN, with their coach receiving 100,000 AZN.
- Bronze Medalists: Each athlete who earned third place will be rewarded with 100,000 AZN, and their coach will receive 50,000 AZN.
These awards and financial incentives underscore Azerbaijan’s commitment to supporting its athletes and promoting excellence in sports on the international stage.
