Bishkek, September 21, 2024 — The Europe Today: The Mayor’s Office of Bishkek and Orta Asya Investment Holding OJSC have signed a significant investment agreement aimed at developing the city’s fuel and energy infrastructure. The project, valued at $300 million, will involve the construction and operation of a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of over 250 MW at the site of Bishkek’s TPP-2.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev, marking a crucial step toward strengthening the city’s energy capacity.
As part of the agreement, Orta Asya Investment Holding OJSC will be responsible for constructing a power transmission line to the Ala-Archa substation at its own expense. In addition, the company will lay a 10 km heating main to integrate hot water supply and heating into Bishkek’s central system, significantly improving the city’s energy and heating infrastructure.
This project represents a key milestone in Bishkek’s efforts to modernize its energy complex and ensure sustainable development for the city’s growing population.
