Ashgabat, October 2, 2024 – The Europe Today: A ceremonial event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China was held on September 30 in Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat. The event took place at the Yildiz Hotel, celebrating the growing partnership between the two nations.
The Chinese Ambassador to Turkmenistan delivered a welcoming speech, commending Turkmenistan’s impressive progress during its 33 years of independence and highlighting the country’s increasing role in regional and global security. He also noted the frequency of high-level meetings between the two nations, with their leaders meeting three times in 2023 alone.
Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Hojamurat Geldimyradov emphasized the economic cooperation between the two countries, identifying China as a key foreign trade partner. He highlighted the importance of collaboration in the oil and gas sector and the development of investment partnerships. Furthermore, Geldimyradov stressed the significance of training Turkmen specialists in Chinese universities, viewing this as a strategic investment in the nation’s human capital.
The evening featured Chinese cuisine and a thematic exhibition, symbolizing the strength of the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and China and their mutual commitment to expanding cooperation.
