Astana, October 21, 2024 – The Europe Today: Kazakhstan has begun producing unique homegrown nutritional supplements specifically designed for athletes and individuals working in hazardous environments, according to the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as reported by News Hub Consultants.
These supplements aim to combat oxidative stress by protecting cells, slowing the onset of age-related illnesses, and enhancing physical performance. All products underwent rigorous testing at the Kazakh Nutrition Academy and have been registered as specialized diet supplements. The project, which took three years to complete, was led by Sergazy Shynghys, a senior research scientist at Nazarbayev University’s National Laboratory Astana (NU NLA).
Shynghys and his team developed three distinct products under the brand “Hormesis Oxy” for professional athletes, elderly individuals, and those who engage in occasional exercise. The supplements contain a blend of polyphenols from plants, adaptogen extracts, gelling agents, and additional ingredients like polydextrose, prebiotics, and dietary fiber—suitable for people with diabetes.
The production is expected to scale up to meet both domestic and international demand, with plans to produce up to 120,000 packages. Shynghys previously developed the Qaynar supplement to help prevent cardiovascular diseases and is now working on innovative antibiotic delivery systems for treating persistent infections. The project has received support from Kazakhstan’s Science Fund.
This initiative represents a significant step in Kazakhstan’s contribution to health science and the global supplement market.
