Beijing, January 25, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Xi Jinping has extended heartfelt Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese. The greetings were conveyed during his inspection trip to Liaoning Province from Wednesday to Friday.
As the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Xi wished for happiness, health, peace, and prosperity for the nation as it welcomes the Year of the Snake. The Spring Festival, which is China’s most significant holiday, falls on January 29 this year and symbolizes family reunions and joy.
During his visit, Xi made a stop at Zhujiagou Village in Huludao, a region severely impacted by flooding last August. He inspected the village’s post-disaster reconstruction efforts, including the relocation of 41 affected households to new homes before winter.
At the village entrance, Xi examined the flood-affected areas and inquired about relief measures. He urged officials to prioritize the villagers’ warmth and well-being during winter. Visiting two households, Xi assessed the structural integrity of their homes, discussed their holiday preparations, and ensured that government subsidies for rebuilding had been adequately provided.
Reflecting on the natural disasters that affected several regions last year, Xi expressed gratitude to those working on post-disaster reconstruction. He remarked, “As the Spring Festival draws near, on behalf of the Party Central Committee, I extend sincere regards and festive greetings to all those affected and those working tirelessly on the frontlines of recovery efforts.”
