Ashgabat, January 29, 2025 – The Europe Today: In a phone conversation between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, both sides highlighted the strong and growing interaction between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan on key global agenda issues.
The leaders identified several priority areas for enhanced cooperation, including the preservation and assurance of universal and regional security, the achievement of sustainable development goals, ecology, water resource management, and other relevant topics. This statement was officially reported by Turkmen media on Wednesday.
Berdimuhamedov emphasized the successful trajectory of bilateral relations, noting that cooperation between the two countries has gained significant momentum in recent years and now covers a wide range of sectors. Both leaders recognized that interactions at the governmental, diplomatic, and departmental levels have become increasingly regular, marking a new phase of collaboration between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.
In a related development, earlier this week, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a phone conversation with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The two leaders focused on water and environmental issues, further underscoring the importance of regional cooperation in addressing these critical challenges.
