Islamabad, February 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: The bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have reached a new milestone with the inauguration of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad on Wednesday. The establishment of this joint chamber is expected to significantly enhance investment and business activities between the two nations.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, attended the event as chief guests. The ceremony was also graced by key business leaders and officials from both countries.
In his address, Ambassador Khazar Farhadov reaffirmed the deep fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, emphasizing the shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation. He expressed confidence that the newly established Chamber of Commerce would play a vital role in increasing the current $2 billion trade volume between the two nations.
Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating that the launch of the Chamber provides a dedicated platform to address investment matters and enhance bilateral cooperation. He underscored the importance of strategic partnerships for sustainable development and expressed optimism about the limitless opportunities that lie ahead for trade and innovation.
Khan also assured Azerbaijan’s business community of Pakistan’s full support in strengthening economic ties. He noted that the Chamber would serve as a pivotal institution in boosting the export of Pakistani products and facilitating new business ventures.
The event also featured speeches by President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Atif Ikram Sheikh, and Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari. They highlighted the Chamber’s potential in introducing Pakistani products to Central Asian markets and fostering business exchanges between the two regions.
The inauguration of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry marks a significant step towards deepening economic and trade relations, opening new avenues for investment, and reinforcing the longstanding partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
