Beijing, April 23, 2025 – The Europe Today: An official welcome ceremony was held on Tuesday for the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who is on a state visit to the People’s Republic of China.
The ceremony took place at a grand square decorated with the national flags of both countries, reflecting the strength of bilateral ties and the ceremonial significance of the occasion. President of China Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan warmly received President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva upon their arrival.
During the ceremony, members of the Chinese delegation were introduced to President Aliyev, while President Xi was introduced to the Azerbaijani delegation. The event featured the national anthems of Azerbaijan and China, performed in honor of the distinguished guests.
A guard of honor stood in formation as part of the ceremonial proceedings. The chief of the guard formally reported to the Azerbaijani President, who then reviewed the honor guard.
The two heads of state concluded the ceremony by posing for official photographs, marking the beginning of a high-level engagement aimed at deepening strategic cooperation between the two countries.
