Baku, November 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is celebrating its 42nd anniversary in Baku with official events and public gatherings, underscoring the close relations between the TRNC and Azerbaijan, according to Ufuk Turganer, head of the TRNC Representative Office in Baku.
In an interview with local media, Turganer emphasized the importance of being in Azerbaijan, noting that “relations between our two countries are strengthening every year, and we are working to further enhance this cooperation.”
He also stressed that safeguarding the sovereignty of the TRNC remains a top priority, highlighting the significance of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s support. “The support extended by President Aliyev to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is extremely important to us, and we once again express our sincere gratitude for it,” Turganer said.
The anniversary celebrations in Baku reflect both the enduring friendship and the growing cooperation between the two nations across political, cultural, and social spheres.
