Two Pilots Killed as Royal Thai Air Force AT-6TH Aircraft Crashes in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai, January 29, 2026 – The Europe Today: A Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) Beechcraft AT-6TH aircraft crashed on Thursday morning in Chiang Mai province, resulting in the deaths of the two pilots onboard, local media reported.

The aircraft was conducting a training flight when it went down in a jungle area of Huay Muang Fang Sai village in Chomthong district, the air force confirmed.

According to Amarin TV, local residents reported hearing two loud explosions before the plane caught fire.

The RTAF operates a fleet of eight AT-6TH aircraft for multiple purposes, including combat missions. These aircraft are based at Wing 41 in northern Thailand.
