Azerbaijan Advances Great Return Program with New Resettlements in Liberated Territories

Tartar, February 23, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan has launched another phase of its nationwide “Great Return” program, continuing efforts to facilitate the voluntary relocation of residents to the country’s liberated territories.

Under the latest phase, a total of 29 families comprising 141 people have been resettled in Ashaghi Oratagh village. Additionally, 17 families (84 people) have relocated to Heyvali village, while 7 families (22 people) have been resettled in Chapar village.

In the Aghdara District, a further 10 families, totaling 46 individuals, have been relocated to Childiran village as part of the ongoing resettlement process.

The Great Return program is aimed at restoring life, rebuilding infrastructure, and ensuring sustainable living conditions in areas that were previously under occupation. The government has been implementing comprehensive reconstruction measures, including housing development, public services restoration, and employment support, to enable returning residents to rebuild their communities.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to accelerating reconstruction and ensuring that returning families are provided with safe housing and essential services as the resettlement process continues.
