Baku, June 29, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that the progressive ideas advanced during the First Turkological Congress continue to serve as the foundation for initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation among Turkic nations and creating a common humanitarian space.
In a message addressed to participants of the Turkic World Week marking the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, President Aliyev said the principles established by the historic gathering are reflected in the projects currently being implemented by the Organization of Turkic States.
“The progressive ideas put forward by the First Turkological Congress form the foundation of the projects successfully being implemented by the Organization of Turkic States today to create a common humanitarian space,” the president said.
Aliyev further stressed that the Turkic world is steadily emerging as an influential geopolitical force on the global stage.
“The family of the Turkic world is on the path to becoming one of the influential geopolitical power centers of the century, in a manner worthy of Azerbaijan’s great ancestors who created a great civilization,” he said.
Reaffirming Azerbaijan’s commitment to regional cooperation, the president said the country would continue working to strengthen solidarity among Turkic nations.
“Azerbaijan will continue to spare no effort to strengthen the unity and resilience of this family,” Aliyev added.
