Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia Discuss Expanding Parliamentary, Economic Cooperation

Dushanbe, July 3, 2026 – The Europe Today: Chairman of Tajikistan’s National Assembly and Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, held talks with Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, on strengthening parliamentary relations and expanding bilateral cooperation across key sectors, the National Assembly said.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance parliamentary engagement, deepen economic and investment cooperation, and broaden collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

The discussions also focused on strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, with both sides exchanging views on prospects for further developing the longstanding bilateral relationship between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia.

According to the National Assembly, the two leaders welcomed the continued support provided by the Saudi Fund for Development, the Islamic Development Bank and other Saudi financial institutions in implementing social and infrastructure projects across Tajikistan.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthening bilateral cooperation through enhanced parliamentary dialogue, increased investment, and continued collaboration in development initiatives.
