Dushanbe, July 24, 2026 – The Europe Today: Tajikistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda, presented the United Nations General Assembly resolution titled “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations (2027–2036)” at the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow on July 22, according to the Embassy of Tajikistan in Russia.
The resolution, adopted by the UN General Assembly on June 25, 2026, was introduced following an initiative put forward by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon.
The presentation was held on the sidelines of a meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council and was attended by representatives of CIS member states, Deputy Secretaries General of the CIS, and heads of relevant sectoral bodies.
During his presentation, Ambassador Gulmahmadzoda outlined the key objectives and provisions of the resolution, highlighting the opportunities it offers for strengthening multilateral cooperation during the International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations.
He emphasized that the UN resolution is designed to reinforce international peace and security, prevent conflicts, encourage dialogue among nations, and draw greater global attention to the goals of sustainable development.
The initiative reflects Tajikistan’s continued commitment to advancing international cooperation through the United Nations and promoting collective efforts to foster peace, stability and sustainable development for future generations.
