BAKU, August 5: Azerbaijan and Switzerland are set to convene the 10th meeting of their Joint Economic Cooperation Commission this fall as the two countries seek to further strengthen bilateral economic and trade relations.
The announcement was made by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov during a joint press conference with Ignazio Cassis, Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation as well as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
Bayramov said the two sides had also proposed organizing a Joint Business Forum bringing together representatives of the business community and private sector. The forum is expected to be held either alongside the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission meeting or at a later date to promote stronger commercial partnerships and investment opportunities.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister underscored the importance of expanding economic cooperation within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) region, stressing that stronger collaboration contributes significantly to sustainable economic development and improved living standards across participating countries.
The planned commission meeting and business forum are expected to provide a platform for enhancing bilateral trade, investment, and private-sector engagement while reinforcing the long-standing economic partnership between Azerbaijan and Switzerland.
