Dushanbe, August 7, 2026 – The Europe Today: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Idibek Kalandar received newly appointed United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representative in Tajikistan Gabrielle Yvonne Akimova on August 6, 2026.
The meeting was held on the occasion of Akimova’s presentation of copies of her credentials, marking the beginning of her official mission as UNICEF Representative in the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation between Tajikistan and UNICEF and to further strengthen collaboration in areas related to children and social development.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued engagement and effective cooperation in support of initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and development of children in Tajikistan.
