Islamabad, August 14, 2026 — The Europe Today: Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Pakistan Damián Cordero Torres has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s 79th Independence Day.
In his message, the Cuban Ambassador, on behalf of the Government and people of Cuba, conveyed his highest compliments and sincere congratulations to the leadership and people of Pakistan on the historic occasion.
He highlighted the longstanding relations between Cuba and Pakistan, describing the bilateral ties as being rooted in solidarity, mutual trust and shared principles of sovereignty.
The Ambassador noted that cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of public health and advanced academic development, represented an exemplary model of South-South cooperation and international partnership.
He said that, amid an increasingly complex global landscape, Cuba remained firmly committed to further strengthening bilateral engagement with Pakistan.
Ambassador Cordero Torres expressed his country’s desire to reinforce diplomatic ties and promote greater institutional cooperation in key areas of mutual interest, with the aim of transforming the historical affinity between the two countries into concrete and long-term strategic progress.
On the auspicious occasion, he conveyed his best wishes for the continued peace, unity and sovereign development of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
