Arkadag, September 03, 2026 – The Europe Today: National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday participated in a general lesson with young people, university students and schoolchildren at the Ruhyyet Palace in Arkadag city, Turkmen state media reported.
Addressing the gathering, Berdimuhamedov congratulated the younger generation on Knowledge and Youth Day and the beginning of the new academic year, wishing them good health, academic success and a meaningful role in the development of their homeland.
In his address, Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of personal development, education and the role of young people in society, emphasizing the need to foster strong moral values among the younger generation.
He outlined Turkmenistan’s achievements, its growing role in the international community and the country’s long-term development priorities. He stressed that young people should actively participate in ambitious programmes aimed at strengthening the future of the independent state.
Berd Berdimuhamedov identified patriotism, respect for national history and cultural heritage, education and diligence as fundamental values. He called on young people to deepen their knowledge of the country’s history and cultural traditions while upholding the moral and ethical principles of the Turkmen people.
The National Leader also underscored the significance of Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality in contributing to international peace, security and stability. He highlighted the country’s initiatives in transport, energy, economic development and international cooperation.
Particular attention during the lesson was given to the rapid advancement of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of enabling young people to make effective use of modern technologies and proposed further development of the “Smart Society” concept with their active participation.
He also put forward proposals to strengthen international cooperation in education, establish international science, education and youth clusters in Turkmenistan, and expand opportunities for young people to participate in intellectual and scientific cooperation.
Berd Berdimuhamedov emphasized the vital role of teachers in educating and shaping the younger generation, noting the importance of continuously improving their professional qualifications.
He also noted that, with the beginning of the new academic year, new buildings of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, as well as several secondary schools and kindergartens, had been commissioned.
Concluding the general lesson, Berdimuhamedov wished the country’s young people good health, happiness, academic achievements and success in their personal and professional lives.
