Kalbajar, September 13, 2026 – The Europe Today: Beekeeping, one of Kalbajar’s longstanding agricultural traditions, continues to develop as an important source of employment and economic activity in the district, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar district Bashir Hajiyev said.
Hajiyev made the remarks while addressing the second Honey Festival held in Kalbajar on September 12.
He noted that beekeeping has historically played a significant role in the economic and social life of Kalbajar’s population, adding that the tradition is now entering a new stage of development.
The Special Representative welcomed the growing activities of local beekeepers and their participation in the festival, saying that such events provide an important platform for showcasing locally produced honey and other agricultural products.
According to Hajiyev, the hard work, dedication to the homeland and commitment to Azerbaijan demonstrated by the people of Kalbajar form the foundation of the Honey Festival and similar events organised in the district.
He said these values are reflected in the daily lives of residents and in their enthusiastic participation in community events.
Hajiyev further emphasised that the enthusiasm and joy of the people attending the festival represent their reunification with their homeland and the emergence of a new chapter of life in Kalbajar.
He expressed confidence that the Honey Festival would continue to be organised regularly and expand in scale each year.
Such events, he added, would contribute significantly to promoting Kalbajar’s agricultural, tourism and economic potential both domestically and internationally.
