Baku, September 29, 2026 — The Europe Today: Azerbaijan will host the 12th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in 2027, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said in a post on X.
Jabbarov said the announcement was made during the 11th Annual Meeting of the AIIB in Doha, where a ceremony was held to mark the decision by the AIIB Board of Governors to select Azerbaijan as the host country for the 2027 Annual Meeting.
The minister expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in Azerbaijan, describing the decision as a reflection of the country’s strong partnership with the AIIB and its active engagement in international financial and investment platforms.
According to Jabbarov, hosting the prestigious event in Azerbaijan is expected to contribute to further expanding cooperation with international financial institutions, creating new investment opportunities and supporting sustainable economic development.
The AIIB is a multilateral development bank focused on financing infrastructure and other productive sectors across Asia and beyond.
